It began with a trilogy of 60th anniversary specials starring David Tennant as the 14th Doctor (who bore no resemblance to the 10th), followed by the recently concluded first season starring Ncuti Gatwa as the 15th Doctor. It’s confirmed that another season of Gatwa is on the way, but given stories of big budgets and low ratings, what’s next? At this point, it’s unclear, but today a glimmer of hope has emerged.

With no help from the Doctor, UNIT steps in as humanity’s first and last line of defense… war rears its head and threatens to plunge the world into chaos.”

The film is currently in production, so it won’t be available on Disney+ in the US for some time. Doctor WhoHowever, the 15th Doctor’s adventures are set to return later this year, starting with the Christmas special, “Joy to the World.”
