In a dramatic turn of events (or maybe not, given their history), Brittany and Jax, two of the show’s most talked-about personalities, announced their divorce in August.
The pair were in the middle of filming season two when the news was widely reported by the media.
However, while the official announcement wasn’t made until late summer, the divorce was filed by Brittany in January, meaning the pair have been working through this separation throughout filming.

The split comes after a tumultuous five-year marriage, to say the least, and Jax’s recent stint in rehab.

Season 1 finale recap: What happened?
In the final episode of season 1 valleyTensions rose between Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright, but the two eventually seemed to reconcile.
“For me, this is a really amazing moment. I think we’ve overcome the odds when it comes to opening a bar with my partner and my lover. I think this is the only thing that connects Brittany and I,” Jax said in a confessional. “Right now, the future looks pretty bright.”
By the end of the episode, a post-production snippet confirmed their breakup. Thud.
But surprisingly, theirs wasn’t the only relationship to fall apart on reality TV.
By the final episode, it was clear that things weren’t going well between Jesse and Michelle.
“I’m going to be honest with you, I just haven’t had any feelings for you at all,” Michelle actually said to Jesse in front of him. In the same post-shoot recap, viewers learned that three days after filming wrapped, Michelle told Jesse that their marriage was over. “It all happened so suddenly, and I felt like I lost track of time,” Jesse told the cameras.
But in her confessional, Michelle insisted, “There’s no question whether I made the right choice.”
