It’s Michael Bay’s fault. that’s right.

Most of the time, movies fail because of shockingly poor quality. For example, most people who watched for even 10 minutes joker 2 I can understand why this movie was a huge failure both critically and commercially. That’s why I was surprised when I saw it transformers one A bomb at the box office. After all, it has an 89% critical rating and a whopping 98% fan rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
It failed because of Michael Bay. His legacy is an albatross that continues to be wrapped around the neck of the Transformers series, and now transformers ones Box office failure could spell doom for the entire series.
As a Transformers fan, I have a love-hate relationship with Michael Bay’s Transformers movies. They helped revive the franchise and introduced some really cool concepts and designs (we can all agree that Bumblebee is cooler than a Camaro, right?). However, each of his films has been worse than the previous one, effectively damaging Robot’s cinematic reputation significantly. transformers one (quite literally the best film in the series) was a complete flop at the box office, earning only $128.9 million against a budget of between $75 million and $147 million.
If you haven’t seen it yet (shame on you!), there’s probably a burning question in the back of your mind as to what was made of it. transformers one Is it very nice? Or how in the world can you say this movie is better than the iconic 1986 film? Because it is.
First of all, that original Transformers animated movie is a certified classic, and I frequently blast the soundtrack while driving around in my little Bumblebee Camaro (I love you, Stan Bush). Masu!). The film’s main weakness is that it doesn’t offer much actual character development. Killer animation and sweet needle drops aside, it just maintains the original show’s basic plot of one-dimensional good guys fighting one-dimensional bad guys.
transformers oneHowever, it delves deeply into the psychology, friendship, and ultimate outcome between Optimus Prime and Megatron, two of the series’ most fascinating characters. It’s rewarding to watch these characters complete their respective stories and realize that their ideological differences are too great to maintain a friendship. These different ideologies are both understandable and heartbreaking, and perfectly illustrate the rift between the brotherly “bots” that ultimately emerges over millions of years.
Now, this franchise has fans of all ages thanks to its various versions. And there’s truly something for everyone to enjoy. transformers one. I appreciated the references to Generation 1 comics and the original Marvel comics. There are also some great references to the 1986 film. I walked away convinced this was it. perfection As for the Transformers movie, seeing such a spectacular failure made me worry about the series as a whole.
After all, the live action Transformers: Rise of the Beast It was the lowest-grossing film in the series until transformers one I’m here. Box office revenue for this series is literally declining; transformers one This was clearly a Hail Mary attempt to revive the brand, with killer animation, a stellar celebrity voice cast, and a creative team that clearly loves the franchise. It still failed due to the simple fact that Michael Bay’s middling film effectively sabotaged that chance.
Remember, the first live-action Transformers movie was a worldwide hit, but subsequent movies ended up being nothing more than mindless clashes between ugly robots punctuated by sheer insanity. It ended with a bizarre scene in which a character explains how to legally have sex with his underage girlfriend. And when the movies aren’t giving us action schlock or creeper characters, they’re doing things like inexplicably killing off the original human protagonist Sam Witwicky, Everything reminded the public of Transformers terrible movie.
If Bay had been able to curb the excesses and produce a sequel with the quality of the first Transformers movie. transformers one It was probably a monster hit. Unfortunately, due to a lack of interest and goodwill from more casual audiences, only die-hard fans bought tickets, and as a result, the series is currently in its darkest period. And if this gorgeous, wonderfully animated movie wasn’t enough to illuminate that darkness, the Transformers series might end up being something akin to Starscream: Relive its glory days and ( The Ghost of Fate who simply wants to usurp his place as the rightful king (in the 80’s) (at least in the comics).
