But the benefits were evident in two days of testing in Arizona (we were planning to ski on the third day at Mount Hood, Oregon, where conditions are worse than in the southwest, but there was a big spring storm under winter advisory and we weren’t interested in tyre chains to a rental Nissan Rogue).
Most skiers agree that softer skis are better in bumpy terrain and snow, but stiffer skis are faster and more comfortable. Swapping between the two is essentially a promise of Renoun’s design. I skied a well-maintained run from the slightly icy top of the peak to the slimy bottom in mid-March, and found the durable 88S to be working really well. I held my edges when I wanted them, and didn’t catch them when I chopped the turns, and even at top speed I didn’t feel any vibration.
The Renoun Skis I tested is significantly lighter than my regular ride. Armada TSTS 10 years ago Same length. Statistics say there is a difference of 100 grams per ski. This means that while the Renoun Skis is about 5% lighter, different bindings make it difficult to compare directly. My demo pair had adjustable bindings that were heavier than the standard bindings, and the skis were still significantly lighter.

Fresh feet
The main advantage of Renoun over the blues of resort skier bombs like me is that it keeps your feet fresh by dampening the vibrations. Unfortunately, I live as a flatlander and are cursed by the poor life decision to only come out a few times a year, so I usually find myself jellying my legs two days later on the hill. But the next day I’ve been using my two sessions CEP compression sock pairmy legs were no different as in the normal day I was waking up at 7,000 feet after the extended Aplus.
The goal the company states is to stop you from thinking about your skis, and that’s what I’ve had. I was reviewing them and I had to force them to stop and think about them, rather than enjoying the views from the gondola. My only idea was that the blue-gray colorway would look bad in my green and orange boots.
