Oil exploration and production company Josler Energy on Monday said it will collaborate with Heath Consultants Ltd and Indraprastha Gas Ltd under the US-India Low Emissions Task Force (LEGT).
The partnership will see the implementation of advanced gas leak detection technology in IGL’s gas distribution network across Delhi NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
The MoU, signed between IGL and Heath Consultants at GASTECH 2024 in Houston, marks a significant step towards reducing methane emissions and enhancing public safety across the IGL network, according to a company statement.
Josler Energy will provide IGL employees with technical support, field expertise and training to ensure they are utilizing the latest technology and best practices in gas leak detection.
Since 2019, Josler Energy has inspected more than 20,000 kilometers of underground pipelines to prevent dangerous leaks that threaten public safety, the environment and financial resources.
“Our partnership with Heath Consultants, a global leader with over 90 years of expertise, strengthens our mission to make India’s natural gas infrastructure safer, more efficient and environmentally sustainable,” said Sudhanshu Mehta, CMD, Josla Energy.
The collaboration is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve operational efficiency and ensure the long-term durability of India’s natural gas infrastructure.
This partnership is in line with the Government of India’s vision for a cleaner and greener future, as highlighted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his ongoing efforts to reduce the country’s carbon footprint.
