The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is flying to the Limelight at Gossamer-Thin Wings on May 12th. Samsung is hosting an “unpack” event to share details about smartphones that are barely thicker than USB-C charging ports. The virtual event will take place on May 12th at 8pm (5pm ET). You can watch the live stream Samsung website Or its formula YouTube Channel. However, don’t expect newer versions of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6. You may be attending another event this summer.
Samsung first unveiled the Galaxy S25 Edge at an unpacked event in January. The company burned the news from the phone as “another thing” of the event, but gave no more details than highlighting its thin frame. The expected April release date has not been panned out, and Samsung has yet to provide details on the device. In the release, Samsung said the S25 Edge is “unleashing a new era of growth in the mobile industry” and “more than a slim smartphone.”
What can you expect other than executives who boast about how thin your phone is? I’m probably bragging about the camera. The company has confirmed that the Slim device houses a 200-megapixel camera that may be based on the main sensor found on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, but you will need to check if there is the same level of zoom. The image shows that the phone has two lenses compared to three or five lenses found on other Samsung Android phones. Samsung previously said that the S25 Edge Camera has “pro-grade features.” This means you have access to Samsung’s suite of photo editing tools. The phone is also likely designed with AI in mind, and at least some of the generator AI editing and creation tools available on current Galaxy phones.

Let’s take a look at how Samsung unpacks the Galaxy S25 edge of the Galaxy.
Galaxy Maker needs to convince us why we need a super slim phone. Rumors suggest that Apple is planning to launch its own skinny smartphone, the iPhone 17 Air, and could potentially reclaim the external battery case to make up for the fact that the source is described as a more limited battery compared to the regular iPhone and Pro iPhone. Ultimately, Samsung needs to prove that users don’t sacrifice much because of the slightly thinner and slightly lighter devices.
