Everyone, Deatsch has drawn Drew here for the giant Freakin Robot again. This time, I’ll talk about something I’ve never emphasized before: Dragons!
Since reading Hobbit And then I watched the animated adaptation of 1977 (still my favorite version of Smaug), and I’m hooked on these ferocious fantasy creatures.
I saw that much too Dragon’s FlyingJohn Ritter uses logic to defeat the multi-purpose evil dragon magician Darth Vader speaks up to.
And my generation was prepared to get Dragon Fever thanks to the blockbuster work Dragon Heart That’s a success.
However, before Dragon Market was dominated by HBO, there was another dragon movie that I was excited about when I was younger.
And this seemed to be the most serious representation of the dragon ever of all major films up to that point.
However, the film wasn’t close to success Dragon Heart At best it remains a cult favorite.
I’m going to sift through the ashes and find out why Rule of Fire We’re screwed.

Like many original high concept stories, Rule of Fire It existed as a script for years before it entered production.
The key story concept is that the dragon is hidden beneath the Earth and is released at the beginning of the film.
This leads to massive human massacres to the point of apocalyptic society.
The main story includes surviving communities hiding from the dragon. Once the wandering warriors enter this community, they will fight the fiery monsters.
So here is the first, obviously low impact theory regarding why the audience is not lined up here Rule of Firebut that’s the point that I think selling viewers with ideas can be more subtle than they seem at first.
Please take a look Rule of Fire Poster.

You can see dragons burning the London landscape, as the London landscape is revealed by Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster.
It sells Dragon Pocalypse movies independence day. “Come and see the Dragons (instead of the aliens)!”
However, when you see the actual video Rule of Fire By looking at what they used in the trailer, it seems that the idea is not what the film actually represents.
Instead of the chaotic chatter like Roland Emmerich, Rule of Fire It looks like a very straightforward, serious take on dragons and humans.
And that’s the movie.
It’s not a movie about a dragon destroying the world. Rule of Fire In fact, it’s a film about a world already destroyed by a dragon. That’s where the majority of the plot is done.
It probably wasn’t appealing to the first viewers who wanted to see a Dragon Pocalypse movie like the Disaster Thrill Ride.
Understood, Twister But with the dragon. And that’s not Rule of Fire.

By the time I was in front of the camera, Rule of Fire I had it X-Files Directed by Rob Bowman at the helm.
Bowman wasn’t just a feature director for many important episodes X-Files It’s a television series, but he was also the director of the franchise’s first feature film.
And like he did X-FilesBowman wanted to root a supernatural story in the sense of realism.
With this in mind, Rule of Fire It looks pretty good if your artistic purpose is to create a world of horrific hopelessness that is almost gone.
Unfortunately, there was an audience that was as big and bold as “dragons are real and existed in modern environments,” and there was an audience that had no intention of buying this concept at all.
Understand, I think this has something to do with the overall sentiment of the times. Rule of Fire.

Pop culture was just going through a fantasy revival in its first one Harry Potter Movie and the beginning Lord of the Rings Both films, historic successes and films, both films, have achieved status as genre classics.
Rule of Fire Released just a few months after these films, they sold audiences with modern, rough and grounded classic fantasy ideas.
Classic fantasy elements of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings It was accepted by a wide audience and found their home in pop culture.
Basically, it was the wrong time to put people on board. Rule of FireArtistic take. Today, this is probably an idea that works thanks to the game’s post-game landscape, allowing for non-fantasy riffs.
It didn’t help that Rule of Fire For the time being, there was a lack of star power.

Matthew McConaughey gets the best bill, but his warrior American is at best a support character. And although he certainly had some cash, he was not a bankable star in 2002.
More noteworthy for the time being was Christian Bale. He definitely had a breakout role American psychohe hadn’t worn a cape or cowl yet, so it wasn’t a common name.
Look, I like it news Just like you, Christian Bale wasn’t the name to drive in to his family over the weekend of 2002.
The same applies to Gerard Butler. Dracula 2000 If anything?
There is a Dragon Pocalypse movie. I can’t see the Dragon Pocalypse happening. The cast has made dragons look terrible and realistic in an era when classic fantasy is at the peak of pop culture and have not made the biggest mark in the acting world.
Please add to that Rule of Fire It will be released in the second week of the long-awaited sequel. Black manas well as the highly mixed review, there is a $60 million effect flick recipe that opened third at $15.6 million.

Rule of Fire I barely managed to beat the opening weekend Halloween A film in which Busta Rhymes uses Kung Fu with Michael Myers.
At least, he lost second place in a great comic book movie. The road to exileone of my top 5 favorite Tom Hanks movies.
Well, if you want my opinion Rule of Fire As a movie, you can get a long version Gunrevision Movie Club Episode We put it where we disagree Dragon Heart.
But I can praise the effect of the dragon Rule of Firethe actual movie is fine. It’s not surprising or awful, and it’s a bit unfunny overall.
But I’ll say that Rule of Fire It’s a film-like film that deserves another shot either with a reboot or a sequel/prequel.

In other words, Dragon Heart I got four sequels! Four sequels! And I couldn’t tell you one thing about them! Except they probably have a dragon on them. Maybe one of the sequels has two dragons? Maybe those dragons are friends dragons, or maybe they aren’t friends dragons. I don’t know, and I never know.
But I know the idea of doing it Terminator However, it sounds pretty cool when the dragon destroys humanity instead of the robot skeleton.
Rule of Fire He did that, but promised a film that was never fully streamed. There is still time to make that promise well.
And as it appears, Rule of Fire It’s a movie worth cult following.
It was an ambitious and unique idea, and it was not appropriate at all at the time. It doesn’t help that actual production had to deal with the outbreak of disease, leading to certain scenes being cut or rewritten as needed.
So I have some sympathy Rule of Fire It was also an unfairly compromised filming.

All other intellectual property under the sun is hanging on content churn, why not give it? Rule of Fire Another attempt? That won’t get any worse than that game of thrones season!
