Hello friends! Have a great week! I’m headed to Orlando for back-to-back adventures so I’ll be sure to report back! Check out mine Enjoy IG Stories.
In today’s post, I would like to talk a little bit about headphones.
A few years after the Bluetooth option came out, I have wired headphones.
In college, I had Bluetooth earbuds (along with everyone else who thought they were cool lol) and used them all the time. I couldn’t help but wonder if it was bad for my brain and eventually decided to stop using it. I’ve always been wary of having a phone or Bluetooth near my head, but I’ve been using Bose sport headphones for years for convenience. (I loved these!!) Over time, I learned more about EMF and decided to go back to wired headphones a few years ago.
Why I wear wired headphones
Wired vs wireless debate
While wireless headphones like Air Pods are extremely popular, wired headphones still have a strong following. As people become more health conscious, I feel like we’re going back to wired headphones. Maybe they’re going back to wired headphones after using wireless. Maybe you’re just happy with just old-school headphones. Or maybe you’re sticking with wired for the following reasons.
better sound quality
Wireless headphones tend to produce more stable audio without interfaces or drops.
Additionally, many musicians, sound engineers, and people who value sound quality seem to prefer wired headphones.
No need to charge
One of the best things about wired headphones is the convenience of not requiring a battery. No need to worry about charging.
It’s perfect for long-term use as you don’t need to take a break to charge.
These are also a less stressful option as you don’t have to worry about your headphones cutting out while you’re using them, especially during workouts, calls, or long trips.
More reliable connection
Wired headphones are also more reliable because you don’t have to worry about signal drops or interference that can occur with Bluetooth. You can connect immediately without any pairing or connection issues. Just connect and you’re ready to go.
It’s also compatible with multiple devices, so you don’t have to worry about connection issues.
Health and electromagnetic concerns
Wireless headphones emit electromagnetic fields (EMF), so some people prefer to avoid them. The more you learn about EMFs, the more you want to minimize your exposure as much as possible. I tend to be sensitive to these things and it was even worse when I was deep in my healing journey.
With wired headphones, you are no longer in close proximity to Bluetooth signals, providing another layer of peace of mind against EMF exposure. This is an interesting article.
With long-term use, it becomes less of a concern for people who want to limit their radiation exposure. (And if you’re one of those people who’s like, “They’re not that bad. They’re within safe limits,” then live your life. I’m trying to limit my exposure.)
Durable and long life
Battery-powered headphones degrade over time and become less resistant to wear and tear. There seem to be few technical problems. Wired headphones are cheaper to replace if something goes wrong.
cost effective
Wired headphones are more affordable than wireless headphones and don’t require constant upgrades. Once you understand the fact that you’re going old school, there’s no pressure to constantly upgrade your headphones. You also don’t have to pay for extra features you don’t need, like Bluetooth or wireless charging.
Why I chose wired headphones
Personally, I’m glad I went back to wired headphones and didn’t have to worry about EMF exposure anymore. I use classic Apple wired headphones with my phone. bose wired headphones for my computer.
I haven’t worked out at the gym in a while, so I usually train by attending a class (with music playing through the speakers) or at home while listening to the speakers. When I go for walks with Maisie, I put my phone in this electromagnetic blocking fanny pack (one of my favorites!). It was also useful for traveling because I didn’t have to worry about my headphones dying. Also, I don’t have to worry about my Bluetooth not connecting while playing Broadway show tunes on the plane (lol).
You can’t use wired headphones anywhere.
I’d like to hear what you all think about this. Do you use wired headphones?, wireless, or no headphones??
