Joakim Richardson
STOCKHOLM, Sweden (CelebrityAccess) — The Country Music Association has announced that Go Country Sweden’s station manager, Joakim Richardson, will receive the 2024 CMA International Country Broadcasting Award.
Richardson was presented with the award by Viaplay Radio CEO Christel Modig, along with country artists Larry Fleet and Lauren Watkins, at a CMA reception prior to Morgan Wallen’s headline concert at Strawberry Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
The award recognizes outstanding achievement by a radio broadcaster or syndicated radio reporter who has contributed to American country music outside the United States.
Richardson was recognised for his efforts to develop new opportunities for international and national country artists in Sweden.
These efforts include initiatives such as “Go Country Live” and “Welcome to Sweden” and serving as a key member of the CMA Nordic Task Force.
Richardson is the first Swedish broadcaster to win a CMA ICB award.
CMA plans to award the remaining 2024 CMA International Awards throughout the year.
