Samsung paused the global deployment of one AI-driven UI interface after preventing some customers from unlocking their phones. Pauses previously flagged by frequent Samsung leaks Ice UniverseIt appears to have influenced the Samsung Galaxy S24 model, which is being updated in Korea. People who upgraded to one UI 7 (aka Android 15) reported repeated issues unlocking their phones.
The company has since pulled updates on perhaps all Galaxy models and regions as a precaution. Samsung told CNET that the software “new timing and availability will soon be shared.”
“One UI 7 rollout schedule has been updated to ensure the best possible experience,” added Samsung.
Samsung began rolling out UI 7 updates for Galaxy Phones and Tablet on April 7, starting with the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. Other devices are expected to follow soon.
One UI 7 introduces a redesigned interface built around AI, providing more personalization and control. The software uses artificial intelligence to edit videos, write messages, and suggest places to go for dinner.
The move will compete to embed more AI capabilities into mobile devices and turn them into smarter personal assistants that will help tech companies to complete daily tasks.
