Bot Company, a robotics startup founded by former Cruise co-founder and CEO Kyle Fogt, has raised $150 million in the round led by Greenoaks. According to Reuterscites unnamed sources.
Vogt founded the startup with Paril Jain, who led Tesla’s AI technology team and former cruise software engineer Luke Holoubek. Vogt did not respond to requests for comment.
Less than a year after Vogt launched Bot Company, the fundraising aims to produce robots that focus on housework. The bot company was released in May $150 million From former Github CEO and investor Nat Friedman, Pioneer Founder and investor Daniel Gross, Spark Capital Partner Nabeel Hyatt, Stripe CEO Patrick Collison, Stripe co-founder John Collison, and Siet Capital.
The new startup began about five months after VOGT resigned as CEO of Cruise, a self-driving car startup that was founded in 2013 and later acquired by General Motors. His resignation follows the incident on October 2, when a cruise car ran through and dragged a 20-foot pedestrian after a pedestrian was attacked by a human-driven vehicle.
