Hello friends! Happy Friday! How is it this week? Friends celebrating this week: How did you spend your holidays?
Before we get into today’s post, a big congratulations to the winner of this year’s Favorite Things giveaway, Mary Anne C. Stay tuned for more presents coming in the new year.
It’s been a wonderful week. We spent several nights at the Scottsdale Princess. This is one of our favorite winter traditions. The atmosphere is very festive and fun, with lots of gorgeous light displays, Santas, ice skates, and rides.
(They also have an outrageous hot cocoa cocktail called the Nutcracker, which is very good.) We met up with friends, enjoyed all the activities on site, and even had dinner at the new Toca Madera.
We were impressed with the food and service. Everything was perfectly cooked. We shared guacamole, chips, oysters, and a pilot and I enjoyed a margarita. For main dishes, the kids had truffle macaroni and cheese and chopped chicken salad, while the pilot and I enjoyed steak and sides. We ordered three desserts (I like to try them all when I eat out lol). The presentation was very unique. Everything was on a board decorated with sparklers.
While in Scottsdale, I also saw Arizona Ballet nutcracker; One of my all-time favorites!
The rest of the week was spent partying with friends and the lights of Winter Haven, Christmas Eve at my dad’s house, and Christmas Day at my house. This week has been filled with all the things I love: family time, relaxing time, and great food.
(All our pajamas are hannah anderson)
I had my usual Nana’s egg casserole, tamales, beans, and H.homemade cinnamon rolls.
The pilot made the famous eggnog:
And for dinner, a huge charcuterie platter, caviar and garnishes, shrimp cocktail; beef tenderloin Served with horseradish mustard sauce, smoked turkey, maple brussels, and mashed sweet potatoes.
Dessert is served in a special Yule log.
homemade pumpkin pie,
Assorted macarons and a million cookies Madre and I baked 😉 These are some of the cookie tins we passed down to our neighbors.
We played a saran wrap ball game and a few other games, and the pilot and I ended the night sitting by the fire pit by the pool. It was perfect 🙂
It’s time for your favorite party every Friday! Here we share some of our favorite finds from the week and around the web. I love hearing about your favorites too, so give your favorites a shout out in the comments section below.

Will you be doing Dry January this year?
Fitness, health, life and delicious food:
While we were in Scottsdale, I was able to take a class with Pvolve at their new studio in Scottsdale. This was one of the best group fitness classes I’ve ever taken. The cueing and energy of the instructors is great and I really love the workouts and format of Pvolve. It incorporates functional strength training with unique positioning, lots of internal and external rotation, and balance components, and the tools are effective at adding extra challenge. It was hard and I felt a pleasant pain afterwards! My full blog post review can be found here.
