Young and the Restless sees the Sally Spectrum (Courtney Hope) relationship with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) being tested, just as new character Aristotle Dumas is on the scene. We talk about the possibility that Sally will get caught up with this new man Dumas.
Young and the Restless: Billy and Phyllis’ rekindled connection – a threat to Sally’s romance?
So now we’re getting Billy deep in with Phyllis. And they have a long history. They got engaged in 2014 only about literally hot moments. That’s when Billy proposes that Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) abandoned Nick Newman (Joshua Moreau) on the altar, and she reveals his affair with Phyllis. But it was long before Billy met Sally and they were involved.
In 2018, Billy abandoned Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). He was pretty salty about the whole thing. However, these days it is not an open wound. It was soothing. Billy and Phyllis have been reconciled ever since. They became solid friends again. And of course, they work together now. And in fact, Billy and Phyllis are beginning to turn into conspirators. I also think Billy got a wake-up call when Phyllis was lured and almost died in calmness with Young.
When Billy sees that he can lose Phyllis, it brings in some old emotions he had for her, lifting them to the surface. But even if Sally split up with Billy, there may be a new guy coming to town that may actually be intended for her, and it could be a better choice for her.
Y&R: Phyllis according to Billy
So, worse than Billy’s growing feelings, Phyllis has also regained her feelings about her ex. This week, Phyllis is suffering from PTSD and trauma, and a terrible interaction with Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) causes her to suffer a panic attack. However, Billy keeps her away from the situation outside, chilling her and regains her focus.
That, of course, helped Phyllis. But none of this is going to help Sally. All of these old emotions that bubble up for Billy and Phyllis are intensifying as they are approaching Billy and are increasingly leaning towards Billy, which happens more and more. And now I honestly think I’m Sally I’m more aware One of the two, Phyllis and Billy, is a threat to their relationship.
Young and Restless: Sally’s Point of View – Is she ready to leave Billy?
But I think Sally is for someone better than Billy Boy Abbott, so I think this Philadelphia reunion is great. But for now, he’s with Sally and doesn’t want Billy to be with her if he wants someone else.
Sally is the type of woman who would have said “It’s okay” if Billy really wanted to be with Phyllis. And she took a step back. Sally isn’t in love with Billy Abbott. Not at all. They’re dating. They sleep together. And they have fun. But this is not a great love. This is not an epic romance.
Young and Calm: Do you need more Sally?
Also, there is no deep history that Phyllis has with Billy. Again, Sally could be intended for someone else, and for something more for someone else than this casual event, which is basically a by-product of the split of her last relationship and his final relationship.
This wasn’t something they came across this cute and sparks flew. They were thrown together as an afterthought. So, that’s not a magical beginning either. So now, Billy’s concern about Phyllis is a risk to his relationship and could lead Sally to her heartbreak once again, as happened with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
Courtney’s hopes about Sally’s concerns and Y&R’s potential future
Actress Courtney Hope recently interviewed Soap Digest, where she shed light on Sally’s concerns about Billy and Phyllis. Courtney Hope said:
Now they have feelings for each other. But you know this is not the heel love between Sally and Billy. And that’s what she should want and what she deserves. Her man may soon arrive in the city of Genoa. And of course, Sally knows that Billy has a past.
Young and the Restless: Does Sally understand that?
That’s what the actress said. But now Sally is beginning to see a bit of what his past with Phyllis looked like. Courtney Hope said her character is really beginning to see what she is against. And she also said that Sally definitely has trust issues and there are plenty of possibilities for Phyllis to ruffle Sally’s feathers. The actress admitted that Sally doesn’t trust Phyllis.
And because of Sally’s plans for Summer Newman (Alison Lanier) years ago, Phyllis doesn’t trust her either. She has been bothered by Sally for a long time, despite Summer allowing Sally to move forward. But Phyllis can’t. She is the Queen of Grm. So now Sally trusts Billy, believing in his sense of security about Phyllis, and believes they won’t come back together.
Young and Calm: Avoiding the looting of the triangle of love – is there a better path for Sally?
And one option is that this will turn into a full-fledged love triangle of Sally, Billy and Phyllis. But that sounds horrible to me, frankly. I think it’s one of the worst and most worn-out soap ratios. It’s lazy writing. And the writer is sure to himself that it is something the fans want to see.
But what I see overwhelmingly whenever I launch a love triangle on social media is that 90% of my fans are like, “No, I don’t want to hate these.” Especially when it’s recycled.
Young and Calm: Does Sally see the Red Flag?
So, all these red flags waving, and Sally might have decided to leave before she went deeper and was injured. That way she and Billy could cancel it and leave in a friendly manner.
We don’t see Sally and Billy survive all of this as a couple. And it was too soon, even by May, that Sally could see her carrying her on Billy, and he stepped deep into Phyllis and this rekindled thing.
Young and Restless: Aristotle Dumas – A new love interest in Sally Spectra?
So, ultimately, where will you clean up Sally’s love life or where will you leave it later? Now, on our way to town we see this rich, mysterious man. I hope he will roll into the city of Genoa, which looks like $1 million. So this is a question based on timing, where the events line up, if Sally is intended to spark a spark at Dumas.
In this week’s episode, Billy admits to Phyllis that Douma is targeting Victor Newman (Eric Braden). Billy turns his eyes to Dumas. It is to bring the Prime Minister back from Newmans to his hands. And depending on when Dumas comes to town, if they are still in a good place, it might be Billy to introduce Sally to this guy. So, this week, Billy may be misleading Sally. And denies the whole revenge.
Young and Calm: The Beginning of the End?
And Billy may only continue to confess in Phyllis. If so, I think it’s a betrayal and can mark the beginning of their end. Soon Billy Flynn will join the cast of Young and the Stress, and he may be playing Dumas. What we know is that the hanky Flynn was seduced away from the days of our lives and given a new role in Y&R rather than recasting.
So Dumas is a brand new role, and he is the only new guy he’s talked about recently. I think there are a few ways to do it. It’s good to see Victor get a new rival as his long-standing feud with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) helps Billy deal with her crisis, and so tired of Billy coming back to Phyllis. I know that Sally might be on the loose ends.
Young and Calm: Will Sally move?
New chunks coming to town will arrive in the coming weeks, such as three to five weeks. And if she and Billy make the division that seems inevitable to me, there are no other eligible singles of age appropriate age. Maybe Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei). That’s about it. Damien Kane (Jermaine Rivers) is destined to be Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) who follows Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver).
Nate Hastings (Shawn Dominique) is also the same as Audra. And everyone else is paired up. So Dumas could be for Sally, and it could be the new character of Billy Flynn, who is romancing her. And yes, we know that Prime Minister Chance (Connor Floyd) is in the loose end. But I think he’s too vanilla on the Surrey spectrum.
