1 Min Read

“Move fast and break things,” an old Silicon Valley motto. But these days, speed and confusion are also coins in the territory of Washington. President Donald Trump is moving fast to redefine the world’s government and the American location. And many of his critics have expressed concern that something might break in the process.

Over the past week, Trump has entertained the French and British heads of state, Emmanuel Macron and Kiel’s Starge. He took a sip from restructuring his ties with Ukraine. And he has promised some extra charges to Canada, Mexico and China.

In domestic policy, speaker Mike Johnson finally advanced a budget resolution, a key step to passing Trump’s agenda through settlement.

And next week, the crisis escalates over the possibility of government shutdown. So everyone will digest the flood of news the president made during his joint speech to Congress on Tuesday.

In this episode of the Playbook Deep Dive Podcast, host Eugene Daniels joins Senior Congress editor Mike DeBonis and West Wing Playbook co-author Sofia Kai to help digest everything that happened this week.
