The Jimmy Butler Trade Saga is over. The Miami Heat is sending six All-Stars who were unhappy with the Golden State Warriors for a package that includes Andrew Wiggins, Dennis Schrader, Kyle Anderson and a protected first-round draft pick. Reports from ESPN on wednesday.
Once the trade is complete, Butler will sign a two-year, $121 million contract extension. According to ESPN.
The Warriors were linked to several names leading up to the February 6 trade deadline. Kevin Duranthowever, after Durant revealed he had no interest in returning to San Francisco, they pivot at Butler.
Butler is now joining the Warriors team headlighted by two-time league MVP Stephen Curry and four-time All-Star Draymond Green. The Warriors are currently sown in 10th place in the Western Conference with a 25-24 record.
The last month of Butler in the heat was Rocky. He returned from a seven-game halt on January 17th after a small forward was disciplined by fever for multiple acts deemed harmful to the team. He was stopped again five days later, this time for two games due to missing team flights. Before he returned on Monday, the heat suspended him indefinitely as he left practice outside.
Before the first suspension, the 2015 NBA’s most improved player has announced that he has lost an on-court “Joy” in Miami. The team confirmed that he immediately requested a deal.
In Butler’s first season in The Heat, the team reached the NBA Finals and again appeared in 2023 for the first time in four years.
So far, Butler has played in 25 games, averaging 17 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.8 assists.
Wiggins will leave the Warriors, who played a pivotal role in the 2021-122 Championship Run. He played six seasons in Golden State.
Schroeder’s time in San Francisco was short-lived. The Warriors bought a German security guard in trade in December and traded him just two months later.
