President Trump has forgiven former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich. Rod Blagojevich was convicted of corruption-related crimes, including attempting to sell a US Senate seat vacant by former President Barack Obama.
Blagojevich served as governor of the state from 2003 to 09. It was a political tale towards the end of his inauguration.
In 2008, federal prosecutors accused the Illinois government of turning it into a money-making operation for its own by attempting to shake up owners of children’s hospitals and horse racing sites. When prosecutors indicted Blagojevich for corruption against his Senate seat, they presented as evidence the profanity phone conversations he had secretly recorded by the FBI.
“I mean, I have this thing, and it is [expletive] Golden. And I’m not giving up on that [expletive] There’s nothing,” Blagojevich said.
He claimed he was simply engaged in political horse trades, and he went on a national public relations tour to declare his innocence.
In January 2009, Blagojevich was fired each and expelled as governor, and later charged that March. The following year he appeared and was kicked out of Donald Trump’s reality television show. Celebrity apprentice.
Blagojevich was convicted in 2011 and later sentenced to 14 years in prison. He served for eight years, and the time behind his time was shorter after President Trump notified Blagoevich’s sentence during his first term.
Many major Illinois Democrats and Republicans criticized the move. After he was released from prison, Blagojevich and his wife, Patti, held a press conference. He was a freed political prisoner, calling the criminal justice system broken and unfair.

The former Democratic governor also declared himself “made by Trump.”
President Trump said he is giving Blagojevich a full pardon. He called Blagojevich’s ruling “a terrible cheating” and he called him a former Illinois governor, a lovely man.
