Just one no one For the nearly 80-year-old actor, the thing most expected to change was his iconic moustache.

What is Tom Selleck’s ‘unrecognizable’ new look?

Final Episode Blue Blood Filming wrapped long ago, and the bittersweet episode will be released in just a few weeks.

As such, Tom Selleck is not contractually obligated to keep his appearance in a certain state, and it’s this time of year when we often see actors loosen up on their strict diet and exercise routines, change their hairstyle, or make other adjustments.

But for 79-year-old Tom Selleck, his new look is downright scruffy, as an eyewitness recently spotted him with a totally different facial hair look (and, yes, you can see it in the image below).

He usually sports the signature moustache that has defined his face since before most of us were born, but on this occasion he was sporting a beard.

Plus, Selleck’s everyday attire of shorts and a t-shirt was very different from how we see him at events and on TV, presumably because he was out running errands.

He wasn’t running any errands this time, but he still had a bit of a beard, despite his less-than-casual attire.

Strictly speaking, his mustache is still there—he just hasn’t shaved it off—but the rest of the beard is there, so the mustache is just part of the beard, rather than a feature.

Longtime fans might be surprised to learn that Tom Selleck wasn’t born with that mustache. He made his acting debut in The Young and the RestlessHe emerged with his face cleansed and clean-shaven.

But when he starred in the lead role Magnum, P.I.Tom Selleck had a mustache that became an indelible part of his public image.

The mustache was such an essential part of Tom Selleck’s look that CBS wanted him to keep it for a long time. Blue Bloodalbeit in the role of a fictional police chief. To be honest, there should always be reasonable limits to realism in television, both because actors are human (don’t give everyone crew cuts) and because television is a visual medium (don’t make your leading star unrecognizable).

When will “Blue Bloods” officially end?

Blue Blood The final 8th episode will begin airing on Friday, October 18th.

The series airs on CBS, which canceled the long-running show (much to Selleck’s disappointment), but so far it seems to be going strong.

Fourteen seasons is a good record, especially in the dystopia of the streaming era, where one or two eight-episode seasons is a harsh reality for many projects.
