It’s the most wonderful time of the year timothy simmons … Because the holidays mean it’s time to get together with the family and talk about his infamous incest coffee commercial.
Catching Timothy at LAX, the photographer asked him about the 2009 Folgers Christmas commercial, colloquially known as the Folgers Incest Ad.
Timothy said he directed part of the audition for a commercial about a brother and sister getting super flirty when they come home for Christmas.
A lot of people feel like the brothers and sisters in the ad want to fight…and Timothy says that even if the cast and crew couldn’t get that vibe on set, most people get it. He says he understands why he did it.
Timothy says he took the job when he was just starting to get a foothold in Hollywood…long before appearing in “Veep” and “Don’t Worry Darling.”
Folgers’ incestuous ad has sparked oral history and even has its own Wikipedia page. Timothy says that people always come up to him about this ad in December…and he shares his thoughts on whether it’s worth doing again.
