TikTok is back on the App Store and the Play Store in the U.S.

More than 25 days later, Apple and Google restored Tiktok on the THRUSDAY night in the US. The companies removed the app from the App Store and Play Store on January 18th, in response to the National Security Act.

Other Buite Dance apps, such as the video editor Capcut and the social app Lemon8, have also been restored in these app stores. Apple has now released a rare support document detailing these removals, and has now deleted the support document.

On January 19th, Tiktok began restoring services to existing users, but Apple and Google have locked out the app from stores. This means that if you uninstalled Tiktok, you wouldn’t have gotten it. Earlier this month, Tiktok encouraged Android users to sideload their apps via their website.

President Donald Trump signed the executive order shortly after he assumed an office to give the app a 75-day lifeline. Within these 75 days, bytedance must either sell Tiktok to a US entity or face a ban.

Last month, Trump said he hopes the US will have a 50% share of Tiktok along with other companies through joint ventures. He also took office as a US Sovereign Fund that could take part in the Tiktok trade.
