Important points of ZDNET
- Torras’ Minimag Power Bank usually retails for $60.
- The 0.3 inch thickness of the Mini Mag Bank makes it super portable, while supplying 5,000mAh via 18W USB-C charging or 7.5W wireless charging.
- However, if you’re looking for a larger pack capacity or kickstands or grips, you’d better look elsewhere.

Testing the MagSafe battery pack is one of the majority of my work at ZDNET. Last year I practiced over 12 battery packs and tested each of them for their features, style, features and most importantly, charging features. I also carry it with me all the time for my work and for what has my relentless need.

I’ve tried battery packs from brands like Anker, Belkin, Baseus, Casely, Burga, Hyper, and many others, but I don’t often feel strong enough to see one detail. But sometimes I have the opportunity to test a magsafe pack that knocks over socks. Enter Torras Minimag Power Bank.
It uses MagSafe technology to snap to the back of your iPhone or adapter-equipped device and works well with the MagSafe case. The box will get a battery pack and included USB-C cable for $55 (depending on where you shop).
Available in two colors (glacial grey and azalea pink), it promises a battery capacity of 5,000mah. The aluminum alloy construction offers an ultra-lightweight feel and features graphene heat dissipation to recharge safety. You can either go up to 7.5W or plug in your bank to charge at 18W, but in any case, the indicator lights allow you to easily tell us how much capacity is still there.

The main attraction of the Torras battery is its design. It’s the thinnest and lightest pack of this ability I’ve tested last year and it really says something. Magsafe battery packs can be inappropriate in some circumstances as they can be like chunky or bricks. Torras really nailed the slim profile factor while maintaining a capacity of 5,000mAh. This is a good idea to keep the battery pack handy for battery boost and top-off.

To put this in perspective, the Torras Minimag is only 0.3 inches thick and weighs 4 ounces. The iPhone 15 is only 0.35 inches thick. Minimags are literally slimmer than the phone itself. This is an outrage in the Magsafe battery market. For example, my best overall pack of the present, the Belkin BoostCharge Pro Qi2, weighs 0.7 inches thick, weighs 5.3 ounces, and isn’t even one of the biggest Magsafe battery packs I’ve tested.

Plus, the Torras Minimag has a strong magnetic hold (13N, or about 2.2 lbs) which is perfect for use on the go without worrying. However, the Magsuff Hold can be removed if the pack is knocked from the side, which we have found to be true on almost all magnetic chargers.
In my opinion, the Mini Mag is a 5,000mah option perfect for daily use and travel. It’s more juice than the charging option for a small plugin, but it actually fits, so it’s slim enough to carry your wallet, work bag, or your pocket (yes, even if it’s snapped on your phone).

Also, the iPhone 14 Pro does not have any annoying overhangs. It’s a big plus that blocks cameras and bumps on the lips of the camera. No one wants to charge their phones through Magsafe. Just realise that you can’t charge or take Insta photos at the same time (we were there and did that).

How long does it take to charge your phone?
To the most important part. Minimag took my iPhone 14 Pro from 42% to 74% in an hour. I used Magsafe to charge and gave it a maximum power of 7.5W. I didn’t notice any severe overheating in the pack, but it warmed up (this is what I expect). Charging it with USB-C will give you a maximum of 18W. This took about 2.5 hours on test.
If I have to do something loud, my only negative about this pack is that it wants to come in more colours. This is what I started seeing big brands like Anker and Belkin. It is also very smooth on the outside and does not necessarily create the safest grip on your phone.
ZDNET purchase advice
Despite some possible areas for improvement, my advice on this pack is simple. That’s a good purchase. Even at a retail price of $55, this Torras Minimag Power Bank It’s still quite a price. However, depending on where you buy from (and, of course, when) you can often make that much less.
If you’re looking for additional features like kickstands, grips, or large capacity options, this probably isn’t the best battery (Torras makes a 10,000mah version with just 0.5 inches thick), but it’s a very practical option to ensure you have a battery pack at hand at all times.
In the end, it’s quite a place in the other Magsafe battery packs I’ve tested. I was completely satisfied with the performance, especially due to the thin design. Despite his small height, he doesn’t compromise on charging or speed, and is certainly competitive with a similar 5,000 MAH pack we recently tested, like Belkin’s latest Boost Charge Pro Pack.
