Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), a conspiring Democrat, is touring the country with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (DN.Y.) to push back the Trump administration.
in Interview with Here and now Robin Younghe said Democrats need to set up candidates who can guide voters’ rage worried about President Trump’s recent move.
“This right-wing agenda is not just about authoritarianism and Olivia, but also about proposals that will take over $1 trillion in tax credits to the top 1%, allowing for massive cuts in Medicaid, nutrition, housing and other programs,” Sanders said. “If you vote for it, I think 80-90% of Americans think it’s completely sane. In fact, in many ways, I think the Trump administration is now defended with tariff policies that raise prices.
The following excerpts have been edited for length and clarity.
Regarding concerns from Democrats that the party has moved too left and needs to listen more
Senator Bernie Sanders: Well, of course, the party needs to listen more. There are many things I’m proud of. They have led women to their rights to control their bodies, and while something that is currently under attack has led the way to gay rights and how to combat civil rights prejudices in general, we will tell you Democrats aren’t proud.
In America today, one man, Elon Musk, owns more wealth than the bottom 53% of American households. We are the only major country on the planet that spends twice as many countries, but does not guarantee health care to all. 60,000 people die a year because they do not reach the doctor on time. In other words, what Democrats haven’t done is paying attention to the working class, and they paid political prices for it.
