For any Pixel older than that, you’re better off buying one of the new phones we recommended above. Older Pixels just aren’t worth buying anymore. Pixel 5 Support (Support has ended, and the Pixel 6 won’t receive Android updates after July 2025.) You can still find some models at various retailers, but we recommend sticking with one of the models listed above unless it’s practically free.
Best Pixel cases and accessories
This silicone case can be color-matched to your Pixel phone. It’s durable, feels great to the touch, and has a raised lip on the front to protect your screen. It’s made from recycled plastic. Older cases tend to pick up lint and dust, but the improved Pixel 8A case is more resistant to them. I also like that the charging port is slightly open, making it easier to swipe up from the screen.
Totallee is Ultra-thin caseand the case I tried for the Pixel 8 felt like I had nothing on it at all. It didn’t protect the phone from anything other than everyday scratches. I’d recommend a clear case instead. It has clicky buttons and raised edges around the edges of the screen. Plus, it really shows off the colors of your Pixel phone.
This is a great case if you frequently mount your Pixel to the handlebars of a bike or electric scooter, as Peak Design’s mounting system allows your phone to be secured magnetically. Universal Bike Mount ($50)and it stays in place. After nearly a year of testing, my phone has never fallen out of my car using this mounting system. Because it uses Apple’s MagSafe system, it works with many of the MagSafe accessories, including wireless chargers. The company also offers several other products. Magnetic Accessorieslike car vent mountThe case itself is fine, but I wish it had a bit more raised edges to better protect the screen. It also comes in a wider range of colors than previous models.
This is one of the best clear cases for the Pixel, especially at this price point. The buttons are clicky, the colors of your Pixel pop out clearly, and the back doesn’t feel too sticky like other clear cases.
Pixel smartphone screens are not very durable and are prone to scratches. I first tested this protector on my Pixel 5A and it was durable. It was easy to install and comes with a squeegee to remove air bubbles. You get two screen protectors for this price (some only come with one, check the product page). It also comes with a microfiber cloth, wipes, and dust removal stickers. Spigen’s Screen protector for Pixel 8A The benefits and application process are very similar, and the prices are similarly affordable.
This screen protector was super easy to apply with very few air bubbles. It’s just one protector, but it does come with an alcohol wipe to pre-clean your screen, a microfiber cloth, an application tool, and a squeegee. The problem is that it’s not tempered glass, but a mix of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET), a cheap material that’s typically not very impact resistant.
Only one screen protector is included, and it’s expensive. Zagg claims that the protector is five times stronger than traditional screen protectors. It didn’t scratch the Pixel I put it on, but don’t take this too seriously. It’s easy to apply with the included application tool, but Zagg doesn’t include a squeegee, so you’ll need to use your fingers to push out any air bubbles. Dust stickers, wet wipes, and a microfiber cloth are included. For the Pixel Fold, the screen protector is only for the external display.
This is another pricey protector from Zagg, but it’s easy to apply. It’s noticeably thicker than the other screen protectors in this guide, so if you drop your phone a lot, it might be worth buying this type of screen protector. It comes with a wet wipe, microfiber, dust removal sticker, and an application tool to make applying the protector easy.
All Pixel phones featured in this guide are capable of wireless charging. Google’s own Pixel Stand is one of the best wireless chargers because of its simplicity: the base won’t slip, your phone stays in place, and it offers fun features like turning your screen into a digital photo frame and quick access to Google Assistant. It’s made from 39% recycled materials, and the packaging is mostly eco-friendly. Our best wireless charger guide has more options, including the original and cheaper options. Pixel Stand.
This charging adapter is everything you need to charge your Pixel, no matter which model you have. The latest high-end Pixel phones don’t include a charger in the box, so if you don’t have a spare USB-C charger, we recommend purchasing one. The adapter’s plug folds up, making it perfect for travel.
These cases are pricey, but they have raised lips that provide decent protection around the edges. The buttons are clicky, and you can choose from several back design options, including walnut, leather, bamboo, silver pearl, and aramid fiber. (I love walnut.) What makes this case special is that it supports MagSafe (yes, Apple’s magnetic system for accessories). I’ve used the Mous Limitless 5.0 with several MagSafe accessories, including a Belkin wireless charger, without any issues.
This is a dual layer case, with a soft silicone inner case and a hard shell outer case. The buttons are a little hard to press, but not too hard. There is a small protrusion for the camera module and the edges around the screen are a little raised. I don’t think it’s worth $50, but with the variety of designs to choose from, it might be worth it.
It’s slim, has a nice texture, maintains the click of the buttons, and has accurate cutouts for ports and speakers. There’s nothing I don’t like about it. Well, it does take away from the unique design of the Pixel and is a bit plain, but I still think this case is one of the more attractive ones in Spigen’s lineup. The edges aren’t very raised, so you can’t expect much protection for the screen. The Thin Fit case is even more boringbut it does the job.
Want a kickstand to prop up your Pixel? This Spigen case has a built-in stand, which is fine, though unfortunately it only works in landscape mode, so it’s not great for hands-free TikTok. The thick bumper offers good protection around the edges, but we recommend using it with a screen protector as the lips don’t stick out too much.
I’ve been using the OtterBox Pixel Fold case, SpecificationsBut I always use the official Google case: the soft silicone is much better than the hard plastic of other cases, it’s not bulky, and it comes in two parts with recesses on the sides for access to the buttons and fingerprint sensor.
If you want to make your Pixel phone stand out even more, Casetify is the place to go. With countless designs to choose from, the Impact Case features a hard bumper, grippy sides, responsive buttons, and a raised lip around the screen.
I’ve only tested the Grip Case with my Pixel 7 Pro, but it has clicky buttons and incredibly grippy edges (hence the name). I don’t think I’ve ever seen a case that feels as grippy. It feels sturdy, yet pretty slim. You can also opt for a sleek design, but you’ll have to stick this “skin” to the back of the case yourself. Be careful, as it’s easy to make mistakes here. Check out Dbrand’s installation video for tipsThe Pixel 8 series version of this case adds MagSafe support, so you can use your Pixel with MagSafe accessories, but we haven’t tested it yet.
The Denali case for the Pixel 8 series is embedded with graphene, which Zagg claims improves durability. We found that graphene is very effective at dissipating heat during heavy loads, so if you push your Pixel to its limits often, you might want to give this case a try, even though it’s a bit boring design-wise. In the case of older Denali case models, the D30 material (best known for bike gear) is impact hardened to provide extra drop protection. There’s a raised lip around the camera bar, and the buttons are clicky, though the front lip protection leaves something to be desired.
This case takes some effort to put on your Pixel, but once you’re there, it’s probably the best protection you’ll get. On the inside, there’s a two-piece polycarbonate shell that snaps over the top and bottom of your Pixel, then tops it off with a thick synthetic rubber slipcover that makes it super durable. The buttons are incredibly clicky, but the whole phone is thicker, wider, and heavier. It’s made from over 50% recycled plastic, and comes with a holster for carrying your Pixel on your belt (the holster doubles as a kickstand).
This is another nice clear case for the Pixel series. I like the textured power button, which makes it easy to find when you’re not looking, and the case has a place to attach a strap (not included). It’s not as smudge-resistant as Ringke claims, but it is easy to clean.
These are cute cases with several designs to choose from. I usually use the Ultracolor cases from Cyrill ( Various pixels) and solid. The new style is fun, with clicky buttons, precise cutouts, and extra protection around the corners. Every case includes a wrist strap so you can keep your Pixel within reach.
Our favorite Pixel software features
The Pixel has some key features that other Android phones don’t have. Some of these features are only available on some Pixels. With Google’s Tensor chip, the Pixel is more powerful. Here’s a quick rundown.
