Oddsmakers haven’t looked at the Pittsburgh Steelers in good spirits over the past few seasons. 2025 won’t follow the NFL schedule release on Wednesday night. In fact, the Steelers are preferred to win just six of their 17 games. DraftKings Sportsbook.
The Steelers are favourite to win their next game.
– New York Jets Week 1 (-2.5)
– Week 2 and Seattle Seahawks (-1.5)
– Week 6 vs. Cleveland Browns (-6.5)
– Week 9 and Indianapolis Colts (-3.5)
– Week 15 vs. Miami Dolphins (-2.5)
– Cleveland Browns in Week 17 (-2.5)
They prefer to win two division games in just four of their home games. At least the odds makers have them on top of the Browns in both matchups.
On the other hand, the Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, Los Angeles Chargers and Detroit Lions represent the toughest challenges in the eyes of oddsmakers.
Six wins have been fewer in the Steelers season since 2003, and Benrothlisberger was selected in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft. That means Mike Tomlin’s 18th consecutive seasons ending without losing records.
Those odds could change dramatically if Aaron Rodgers were to sign with the Steelers. I don’t think he’s completely factored into the opening odds because it’s such a throw at the moment. Even the schedule makers weren’t confident enough to showcase games like the Steelers and Primetime Jets despite their interesting storyline.
In 2024, the Steelers had one of the toughest schedules in the league. Their schedule was tough and their final stretch of the season was far worse in the league. Playing regular opponents in NFC North and AFC North, the schedule strength is currently 10th, based on last year’s ranking. It’s still a tough slate, but it’s not as difficult as last season. The end of this year is once again the toughest closed stretch for the team.
The oddsmakers endorse the Steelers in just six games to open their bets last year, and will be playing in the playoffs with a 10-7 record. Will they once again exceed expectations?
