Nine Pro Bowl fullback Kyle Juszczyk has returned to the San Francisco 49ers in a two-year, $8 million deal, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Saturday.
It was a brief split as the 49ers reverted to fold after releasing Juszczyk on Tuesday. The 33-year-old Juszczyk and the 49ers had almost parted ways in their final offseason before agreeing to pay cuts.
Sources said Juszczyk was less than the Pittsburgh Steelers offered to return to San Francisco.
The return of Juszczyk, a fan favorite on the team, was celebrated with Instagram stories by running through Christian McCaffrey and tight end George Kittle.
Juszczyk was one of the first free agents signed by 49ers Kyle Shanahan coach and general manager John Lynch after taking over in 2017.
He was selected to the Pro Bowl after each of eight seasons in San Francisco, with the first team All-Pro in 2023 and the second team All-Pro in 2024.
Juszczyk, the fourth selection by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2013 draft, has 378 receptions and 18 touchdowns for 2,664 yards in his career. He rushes for 237 yards and six touchdowns.
