Stock market news, hot stocks: Domestic equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty 50 suffered heavy losses on Monday amid declines across most sectors, with investors assessing mixed signals from major markets globally, including financials, IT , energy and auto stocks were the hardest hit. Sensex fell 1,272.1 points (1.5%) to end at 84,299.8 and Nifty50 fell 368.1 points (1.4%) to end at 25,810.9.
At current levels, both major indexes are about 2.0% below their record highs set last Friday.
