Officials say that nearly 150,000 Segway scooters are recalled due to safety hazards.
The recall was announced Thursday by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The recall relates to all 220,000 units of the Segway Ninebot Max G30p and Max G30LP kick scooters.
According to the CPSC, a recall was issued due to the model folding mechanism, but this could be a failure.
“The folding mechanism can break down and fold the handlebar or stem while the scooter is in use, poses a fall risk to the consumer,” the notice said.

The CPSC also includes a physical description of the scooter in case the Segway owners are unsure if they own the recalled model.
