Ryan Fox won the dramatic four-hole playoffs with Sam Burns and won his second PGA Tour title, the RBC Canada Open.
The New Zealander stopped a 16-foot-clutch birdie putt on the 18th to lead him into the playoffs.
Starting the day with a lead share, Fox recorded a bogey-free 4-under 66, with Burns surged through the leaderboard with nine birdies and a lonely bogey.
The drama then continued with a pivotal moment coming in the extra hole of the par-5, the 18th fourth.
It was Fox who stepped up when he set up an incredible Eagle opportunity, but Burns also left an outside chance with a shot in the center of green, but it was the 38-year-old Kiwi who shocked.
However, in search of his sixth PGA Tour victory, Burns pressured him clumsy overshooting his Eagle putt and missed the putt for a birdie, seeking his first victory since March 2023.
He had two putt talent on his second PGA Tour, and he used both to tap for birdies and victory.
RBC Canadian Open added to Fox’s success at Myrtle Beach Classic and secured it in the playoffs for its first victory on the PGA Tour last month.
The first two playoff holes on the 18th saw both Fox and Burns leave on par, with the former leaving putts on the biggest opportunity to get a birdie.
Both had to come back from poor shots to save par as the pin position moved for the third attempt.
Meanwhile, Kevin Yu, Matt McCarty and Cameron Young competed in their 153rd Open at Royal Portrush through the Canadian Open.
Yu claimed his first qualifying spot after finishing third in Fox’s 17th with an already exempt burn.
Italy’s Matteo Manacero, who shared the lead with Fox after the third round, returned to the tie in sixth place at 15 after a 1-under 69, with Shane Laurie tied to 13th place at 13.
