Prime Minister Narendra Modi to launch numerous development projects from Varanasi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch a number of development initiatives during his visit to Varanasi on Sunday, including multiple airport projects across the country worth over Rs 6,100 crore, the Prime Minister’s Office announced.

He said the foundation stone will be laid for new civil enclaves worth over Rs 570 crore at Agra airport, around Rs 910 crore at Darbhanga airport and around Rs 1,550 crore at Bagdogra airport.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate new terminal buildings at Rewa, Ambikapur and Saharanpur airports, which are being constructed at a cost of over Rs 220 million.

The combined passenger handling capacity of these airports increases to more than 2.3 billion passengers per year.

The design of these airports is influenced by and derived from common elements of the region’s historic buildings, the statement said.

Among other projects, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the second and third phases of redevelopment of Varanasi Sports Complex worth over Rs 210 crore under the Khelo India scheme and smart city mission. It is.

The project includes the construction of a state-of-the-art sports complex with a national center of excellence, athlete dormitories, a sports science center, practice ranges for various sports, an indoor shooting range and a martial arts arena.

PM Modi also plans to inaugurate a 100-bed women’s and men’s hostel and a public pavilion at the Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Sports Stadium in Lalpur, the newspaper said.

He plans to start tourism development projects in Buddhist areas of Sarnath. These enhancements include the construction of pedestrian-friendly roads, new sewer pipes and upgraded drainage systems, and zones with modern designer vending carts to promote local handicraft sales .

Prime Minister Modi will also take up initiatives such as tourism development projects at Banasur and Gurudham temples, beautification and redevelopment of parks, the statement said.
