Pascal Siakam scored a playoff career-high 39 points, and the Indiana Pacers defeated the New York Knicks (114-109) on Friday night to lead 2-0 in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Miles Turner added 16 points, while Tyreese Halliburton had 14 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds for the Pacers, returning home halfway through on his second trip to the NBA Finals. They lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in their only shot in the title in 2000.
Game 3 is Sunday in Indiana, but the Pacers may prefer to keep it right. They have won six straight road games since falling in Milwaukee in Game 3 of the first round.
Jalen Brunson scored 36 points and 11 assists for the Knicks. He needs a simple turnaround or their first appearance in the first meeting final in 25 years. They defended much better after a devastating collapse with a 138-135 overtime loss in Game 1, but were unable to find enough scores to come back after a bad start to the fourth quarter.
