The realm of dinosaur films includes films from “Jurassic Park” and everything else. They could also be called “Jurassic World” films. Either way, we’re talking about a series of tent poles that we’ve endured at this point for over 30 years. When appropriate, the first two entries in the Steven Spielberg franchise now dominate Hulu.

Around FlixpatrolSpielberg’s original 1993 blockbuster classic “Jurassic Park” is now Hulu’s second film, and it only tracks Oscar-nominated Bob Dylan’s biopic “A Complete Unknown.” Spielberg’s 1997 follow-up, “The Lost World: Jurassic Park,” adds more fuel to the fire, sat comfortably at No. 4 on the streamer’s charts, just behind Oscar winner “Anora.” It’s a pretty good company.
It’s not surprising that these films have maintained a considerable audience on Hulu. These titles tend to spin a variety of streaming services, making it difficult to pass on when viewers catch old favorites on their home screen. In this case, director Gareth Edwards’ “Jurassic World Reventa” is set to give the franchise a reset this summer. With the new cast and the opportunity to kick off a whole new series of films, it is very likely that audiences are aiming to catch up with previous installments to prepare themselves for the future. Hulu is currently benefiting from it.

The shockingly lasting power of Jurassic films
Putting aside the impending arrival of “regeneration,” we are talking about a franchise that is extremely popular across multiple generations, unlike “Star Wars.” To date, six “Jurassic Park” films have generated over $6 billion at the global box office. Only “Jurassic Park III” was completely disappointed. Other films have raised a lot of money over the years, even if they weren’t always the critical darlings.

In the case of the “lost world”, it cannot respond to its predecessor, and Spielberg knows it is true. Still, when it appears in 30 years, the audience appears to be still enjoying the sequel. I personally defend the “lost world” to death, but it’s not here or there. More importantly, I don’t seem to be alone in it. At least, even the fewer entries in this property maintain a vast amount of value that goes far beyond the theatrical run.
Universal transformed “Jurassic World” into a $1.6 billion giant in 2015, literally becoming one of the biggest films of all time when it was released. It definitely completed the official sequel to Legacy and helped bring back the franchise for a new generation of fans. who knows? Perhaps a young audience familiar with the recent “Jurassic” trilogy has returned to watch the old film.

Either way, films like “Fallen Kingdom” and “Dominion” may have rubbed certain viewers and critics in the wrong way, but we can see that this fortune is still loved. This is especially true when it comes to the original “Jurassic Park,” one of the most influential and respected big names ever made. This should advance a lot of universal confidence as the studio plots the future of these dinosaurs on the big screen.
