The New York Giants (2-12) will face the Atlanta Falcons (7-7) in a Week 16 battle on Sunday afternoon at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
Of course, this presents us here at the Giants Wire with an opportunity to tentatively steal from the Falcons’ roster for the second time this season in search of Big Blue’s depth and personnel upgrades.
Believe it or not, there are actually a lot of options.
The Falcons may be a mid-major team in terms of record and most stats, but they have a roster full of high-end talent, including in areas the Giants are definitely lacking.
Rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr. is an attractive choice, but the reality is no one knows how he will fare in the NFL. We’ll get our first taste of that on Sunday when he makes his starting debut against the team that passed him on in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Other options include running back Bijan Robinson, wide receiver Drake Rondon, tight end Kyle Pitts, safety Jesse Bates III and linebacker Kaden Ellis. But in the end, they ended up stealing two-time All-Pro guard Chris Lindstrom.
Lindstrom is one of the best interior offensive linemen in the NFL and arguably the premier guard. He is an above-average pass protector and a dominant run blocker. His 92.6 overall grade on Pro Football Focus ranks second among all guards in football, and his 94.5 run blocking grade leads the league.
Over 514 pass-blocking snaps, Lindstrom allowed only seven hits and one sack. He also paved the way for Robinson, who has more than 1,100 rushing yards this season and averages 4.7 yards per carry.
Lindstrom would be a long-term solution to a long-standing problem for the Giants.
What do you think, Giants fans? Would you choose Chris Lindstrom or a completely different player from the Atlanta Falcons?
