Myles Rice scored 14 of his 20 points in the first half, freshman Bryson Tucker scored a season-high 14 points and No. 16 Indiana defeated UNC Greensboro 69-58 on Thursday night.
Mackenzie Mgabako, Malik Renaud and Umar Baro each scored nine points for the Hoosiers (4-0), who won their fourth straight game by double digits. Baro had 11 rebounds and Renaud had 10 rebounds.
Ronald Polite III led the Spartans with a season-high 17 points, and Donovan Atwell added 10 points for UNC Greensboro (2-2).
Indiana never trailed, but things got interesting for the Spartans when Malik Henry’s 3-point play tied the score at 40 4:03 into the second half. Tucker responded with five straight points, and the Hoosiers held UNC Greensboro at arm’s length for the rest of the game.
