The debate over Tush Push’s legality will last a little longer as it is not yet clear about the future of the play.
The NFL has presented a vote on a potential ban by Tush Push until later. Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz reported on Tuesday. Additionally, 16 teams were in favor of banning Tush Push, and according to Schultz, they didn’t fall by eight to the votes needed to remove play.
The vote on the potential ban on Tush Push was one of many proposed rule changes that are scheduled to be voted at the NFL league meeting on Tuesday. As the Philadelphia Eagles have been using the play for the past few seasons and have been a huge success, the Green Bay Packers sent out a proposal in February to ban the play, citing safety concerns.
If the ban on tash pushes is ultimately approved, safety is one of the main reasons. According to Schultz. Those who want to ban it want to “prevent serious injuries before it happens, rather than waiting for a disaster,” Schultz wrote.
It is unclear whether a vote will be voted on a potential ban on Tush Push, but the next scheduled meeting involving NFL owners is in mid-May.
This is a developing story.
