The New York Giants have decided to stay the course in 2025, retaining general manager Joe Schon, head coach Brian Daboll, and most of the front office and coaching staff. However, at least one change occurs.
With Mike Vrabel appointed as the next head coach, Yahoo Sports’ Charles Robinson reported that executive advisor Ryan Cowden is leaving New York for New England.
I’m listening #Giants Human resources advisor Ryan Cowden will join the company as human resources advisor. #Patriots Although the personnel structure is different, there is no GM title. I believe that Mr. Elliott Wolf will retain personnel rights. However, Cowden’s addition to the front office is at Vrabel’s request. The dynamics will be interesting.

Before joining the Giants in 2023, Cowden spent six seasons with the Tennessee Titans, starting as director of player personnel.
Prior to that, he spent 16 seasons with the Carolina Panthers, where he met former Giants GM Dave Gettleman. He worked his way up the ladder from area scout to director of college scouting.
During his time at Tennessee from 2016 to 2022, Cowden served as Director of Player Personnel, Vice President of Player Personnel, and Interim Manager.
For five of those seasons, he worked with Vrabel, then the head coach at the University of Tennessee.
Cowden also has a close relationship with Shane, and they are good friends who met when Shane was a scouting assistant with the Panthers.
