Mother Dairy, one of the leading milk suppliers in the Delhi-NCR region, announced a new hike in milk prices, raising interest rates of 2 Rs per liter. The revised price will be effective from Wednesday, April 30th and will apply to all major milk variants such as full cream, tone, double tone and milk.
The move follows a similar revision last June, with the company citing a significant rise in procurement costs nearly 4-5 rupees per litre as the main reason for the latest increase.
With the new pricing, the full cream milk pouch will cost Rs 69 per liter, and Rs 68 to Rs 69. The popular tone milk (pouch) will be sold for Rs 57, with double tone and milk going for Rs 51 and Rs 59, respectively. In bull-covered tone milk, prices rose from Rs 54 to Rs 56 per liter.

Summer heat, rising input costs cause price pressure
According to breast milk products, early summer onset and common heat wave conditions have disrupted supply chains and increased raw milk procurement costs. These costs have skyrocketed at 4-5 Rs per liter in recent months, forcing the company to readjust retail prices.
“This price revision is necessary to address the significant increase in procurement costs,” a spokesman for Mother Dairy said.
Breast dairy products revealed that hiking only represents a Partial passthrough It highlights the company’s efforts to balance farmer compensation with consumer affordability among the increased input costs. The brands are almost supplying 350,000 liters Milk is used daily across Delhi-NCR through booths, retail networks and online platforms.
“We remain committed to ensuring the consistent availability of quality milk for our consumers while supporting farmers’ livelihoods,” the spokesman added.
Industry Trends: Amul hiked prices previously
The hike comes just weeks after Amul revised its prices at Rs 2 per liter at Delhi-NCR, suggesting an industry-wide response to rising procurement costs.
This upward revision means that households will need to adjust their budgets slightly, as dairy remains a staple food in most kitchens. However, experts believe partial hikes are inevitable given the sharp rise in farm prices.
