GoveeLife and Govee are recalling 512,000 smart electric heaters across the United States due to the risk of the devices overheating.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced Thursday that owners of recalled electric stoves could face a “hazard of fire and burns” if they overheat.

According to the CPSC, the recalled heaters include model numbers H7130, H7131, H7132, H7133, H7134 and H7135.

“Testing revealed that the smart electric space heater does not comply with UL 1278, a voluntary industry safety standard, and poses a risk of overheating and fire due to its wireless control feature,” the company said.
An additional 48,600 heaters are being recalled in Canada.
The brands are aware of 113 reported cases of heaters overheating. One of the incidents resulted in “minor burns,” and seven were involved in fires, according to the CPSC.
Consumers who own the recalled heaters will be eligible for a refund.

To receive a refund, affected customers must submit the manufacturer’s label and a photo of the heater with the power cord disconnected, as well as their order number, the brand announced. their recall webpage. “Consumers who do not have their original order number will receive a refund ranging from $31.80 to $106.63, depending on the model purchased,” the CPSC’s warning reads. “Consumers with their original order number will receive a full refund of their purchase price.”
According to Govee and GoveeLife, refunds will be issued in the form of electronic checks. It will arrive within 15 business days after the brand agrees to your recall request.
