Everyone wants Joey Chestnut Returning to Nathan’s Hot Dog Meal Contest, from fans to enemies, even astonishing… Last year’s champion says TMZ Sports Grizzy King “definitely” wants to make a comeback!!
We chopped it up Patrick Bertletti A new report from our report on the ongoing talk between Major League meals and chestnuts…and he said he was hungry for his good friend to return to the Coney Island stage this July 4th.
“If they’re talking, that’s good,” Bertetti said. “And I think it’s overall better competition if he’s there.”
The 40-year-old said the jawless tradition “feels really strange.” He knows his title defense is more challenging with Joey on the field, but Bertetti welcomes the opportunity with open arms.
“To be the best, you managed to beat the best.”
Bertoletti believes that if Chestnut returns he will come back in vengeance – and although I don’t know if he will break the 83 mark he fought Kobayashi Takeru During an event in Las Vegas in September… Patrick is undoubtedly going to come out to prove his point.
“After a bad split, you want your ex to meet you with a really hot chick, and you want to prove they’re wrong and make a statement,” he said.
“And he’s already made so many statements and he’s motivated to be motivated and he’s afraid to see what he can do and what’s unlocking to him if he comes back.”
There’s more – Bertetti shared a playful smack talk he cooked to chestnuts in his year as a champion…it fell on Thanksgiving holidays (side note: can you imagine a competitive eater meeting on Turkish Day?!)
