Jessica Simpson I’m grateful to her guitar player Stanton Edward After her first TV performance in 15 years.
“It exploded with @Jessicasimpson in the @Americanidol season finale,” the Nashville-based guitar player captioned an Instagram post on Tuesday, May 20th. Simpson, 44, shared the post and added a sweet message.
“Lord, I know I didn’t hold my cool without you, so thank you @stantonedward!!!” Simpson wrote Tuesday via Instagram Stories.
Simpson went on stage in the meantime. American Idol The Season 23 finale on Sunday, May 18th sang her new song, “Blame Me,” and the iconic rendition originally released in 2005, “These Boots Made for Walkin.”
American Idol host Ryan Seacrest Sunday’s performance confirmed Simpson’s first “television appearance” in 15 years. She took the stage alongside former season 23 contestants Josh Kingwas eliminated at the beginning of the season.
Simpson admitted he had some big nerves before he took the stage.
“Oh my God, I was dead,” the singer said. Extra Monday, May 19th.
She continued: “I kept saying to myself, “Don’t cry. Don’t cry. I know this is a big moment… don’t cry.” And I look at my father [Joe Simpson]as if in the corner, I said, “Oh, I’m going to cry. I’m going to cry. Don’t cry. I’m just sing a song. I’m just sing a song.”
In the same interview, Simpson admitted that 15 years was “a really long time” to take a break from performing on television.
“It’s easy because the end was a Christmas song,” she added, explaining why this was the perfect moment to return to the TV stage.
“So this is my new EP Nashville Canyon, pt. 1In other words, pt. 2 It comes in the summer, but it was part of my soul and then I felt naked to sing the song,” she explained.
Simpson returned to music with release Nashville Canyon, pt. 1 In March. That same month, she returned to live music 15 years later to appear on stage, performing at the Recording Academy’s Austin Chapter Block Party at SXSW in Austin, Texas.
