The American magazine Newsweek lists Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer, Israel as the eighth hospital in the world. Last year, Newsweek ranked Shiba Medical Center at 9th, previously ranked 10th.
Newsweek compiles the rankings of the best hospitals together with German data collection company Statista. To compile the rankings, the Joint Committee of Newsweek and Statista will rate around 2,400 of the approximately 215,000 hospitals around the world. The number of hospitals ranked is from 30 countries. The magazine sends surveys to doctors, hospital administrators, and even patients, and to patients to compare their clinical status and treatment outcomes as well as satisfaction. Ultimately, hospitals rank in two rankings – global and internal countries.
