This time last year, NFL Films and HBO’s “Hard Knock” were embarking on a new venture to bring fans behind the scenes of teams preparing for the offseason.
The subject team was, of course, a great success with the New York giants and innovative ideas. It was clear (probably too obvious), informative and fresh – and fans ate it.
However, after their debut season, the concept could be dead on the vine. The Giants are still answering questions about the process a year later, and there are no teams yet not volunteering in their second season.
“We hope to come back. We’re talking with a lot of teams about it, but we’ll see what happens. I mean, we need participants who are willing to come up with it. I mean. We’re not going to force anyone to do that show.” NFL Films VP Cossrow said last month.
The team hasn’t come because of the maelstroms they created for the Giants. It showed the internal mechanics of the decision that would ultimately change the outcome of the 2025 NFL season, making the Giants look like fools in the process.
The Giants decided to let Saquon Berkley walk through their free agency.
The first question posed to Giants general manager Joe Shane at the Indianapolis NFL combine on Tuesday was about his fateful decision to flaw Philadelphia and lead him to the Super Bowl . He is happy with Berkley, but the decision didn’t work for New York.
Shane was also asked which teams called the team for advice on doing the show.
Joe Shane has not been asked by other NFL teams about his thoughts on offseason hard knocks

The reality is that if the Giants had Berkley he wouldn’t have tilted the scale too much for them. They won three games last year. At Barkley, they could have won a little more at best. With the Eagles, he became the final piece of the Championship puzzle.
The Giants need to have a solid offseason that brings results and creates victory. This can finally escape this cover of incompetence since its appearance in “Hard Knock.”
