The gang performed one of George’s biggest hits, “Troubadour,” and when George took the microphone, the crowd gave him a standing ovation.
Jamie only attends the tribute A few days after being arrested He was arrested for drug possession and speeding in nearby Williamson County, Tennessee. He’s been writing songs for George and Willie for years, so he couldn’t have missed this one.
In his acceptance speech, George joked that the tribute cover of his song was so good that he was glad he was old enough to record it first. 😆
Past recipients of the CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award include: dolly parton, alan jackson, Johnny Cash, loretta lynn, charlie pride, Kris Kristofferson And Willy himself.
