The Gamescom Latam Big Festival 2025 Awards began today with Shu Yoshida’s Lifetime Achievement Award in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Rodrigo Terra, CEO of the Brazilian Games Association Abram Games, presented the award to Yoshida, who chats with me by the fireplace at Gamescom Latam on Thursday evening in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Yoshida left Sony late last year 31 years later, where he worked as head of Sony Interactive Entertainment Studios for Sony PlayStation.
The Best Game Award was sent to nine Sols by Taiwan’s Red Candle Game.
The best pitch for regional game development went to Rogue Snail for the game’s Hellclock.
The best mobile game award was sent to Levil Devil by Unept.
The best sound went to the sacred Gaushdarn from the paranormal/yogasto
The winner of Best Art was Naiad, the development Erwin of Hiwarp.
The winners of the innovation were Solcesto, Geraudo Zucchini and Chalice Pilar from Goblinz Publishing in France.
The winner of the best multiplayer was Bang Bang Garage in the Chinese Monkey Pan/Spiral Up game. It was created by a team of two.
Best Norative was sent to Neva by Nomada Studio, published by Devolver Digital.
Best XR/VR went to Sugar Mess – Let’s have a cheerful battle with Jolico in the US
The winner of Best GamePlay went to Animal Well by shared memory and was published by BigMode in the US. Created by the solo game Dev Billy Basso.
The best game for Latin America went to Grizzly Man, created by LCB Game Studios in Argentina.
The best games in Brazil went to Mullet Madjack by Hammer 95 Studios and published by Epopeia Games. The studio has been making games for over 10 years. The game has been on the wish list 500,000 times and has sold over 200,000 units so far.
“Brazil is making great games,” the winner said.
