Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Devinbush Jr. was arrested today in Allegheny County on charges of simple assault and harassment. Court documents shared by Colin Dunlap of KDKA in X.
Bush was the Steelers’ first round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, drafting from 20th to 10th in trade with the Denver Broncos. He had a promising rookie season, but he earned consideration for Rookie of the Year of the Year, but a knee injury led him backwards early in his career.
Multiple seasons have failed to regain the form of his promising rookie season. By the end of the 2022 season, he had been benched by the Steelers in favor of Robert Spiran and Mark Robinson.
The Steelers eventually declined his fifth year option, and Bush signed with the Seattle Seahawks on a one-year deal in 2023.
The Steelers also shipped two round picks in 2019 and third round picks for the 2020 Bush, which really limited the value of the draft over the next few years.
Most recently, Bush was a member of the Cleveland Browns on a one-year contract in 2024. He started 10 games for the Browns, recording 76 tackles, eight tackles, three passes defense, one quarterback hit and a sack.
The Browns expanded him with another one-year contract worth $3.25 million, guaranteeing $2.97 million. Beyond the cap. He is likely to play in a rotation role this season, but the Browns drafted LB Carson Shoe Singer in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
In the busy linebacker room, we will see how this legal issue could have as it is stuck on the Browns’ roster.
There are no more details about the incident at this time. This could be a developing story.
