The former NFL was arrested Friday morning in Minnesota and charged with driving four times while still in disability, according to online records maintained by Hennepin County Sheriff.
Peterson was attending the Minnesota Vikings public draft party at US Bank Stadium on Thursday night. He was taken into custody at 5:16am and released at 7:31am on a $4,000 bond.
Fees are misdemeanors. Peterson’s next scheduled court will be May 9th in Minneapolis.
State Patrol Lt. Mike Lee He spoke to the Minnesota Star Tribune Troopers observed Peterson driving 83 mph in the 55 mph zone and conducted a preliminary breath test to measure blood alcohol content at 0.14%. The legal limit for driving in Minnesota is 0.08%.
This is the latest in many cases that Peterson has been involved in over the years, including domestic violence, child abuse and financial issues.
Peterson, 40, was seventh overall in the Vikings’ first round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft. He stayed with the team for 10 years and left after the 2017 season. Peterson then spent time with the saints of New Orleans, the Arizona Cardinals, Commander of Washington, the Detroit Lions, the Tennessee Titans and the Seattle Seahawks. He last played in 2021.
Peterson’s career rush total of 14,918 yards is fifth in NFL history.
