The legendary punk rock trio known for their inspiring performances sparked a fire Saturday night after palm trees ignited due to fireworks used in Green Day’s headline set at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California.

In the video obtained People Magazinewhen festival fans gather and are surprised by the flames, you can see the flames swallowing palm trees. The incident sparked quick rage online, especially given the history of California’s devastating wildfires.
“After all California wildfires, are they using fireworks?! That’s fine. They’ll hold profit concerts.”
Another user added, “I can’t believe they’re allowed to fire fireworks at times like 100 degrees in LA.”
The third person cried out, “They just burned Coachella,” but someone else said, “This is why we can’t get good stuff.”

In addition to fire-related controversy, frontman Billy Joe Armstrong rekindled political conversations during the band’s performance for their hit song “American Idiot.”

This is not the first time that Green Day frontman has made his political views clear. Earlier this year, Armstrong performed the same revised lyrics on ABC’s “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” just weeks before Trump took office.
