Made to be a crowd-pleasing feature film, packed with big-name cameos, Rob Delaney’s work makes his character Peter stand out in Deadpool & Wolverine. We first meet Peter in Deadpool 2, where he tries to become part of X-Force but has no apparent powers. The joke is that he’s just a regular guy, and that’s pretty much the same in Deadpool & Wolverine, where he appears as a friend and co-worker of Wade Wilson. At the start of the film, Wade and Peter work together at a car dealership, but by the end, Peter shows a whole new side to himself.
In the film’s climax, Deadpool and Wolverine face off against a number of Deadpool variants from across the multiverse, including Lady Deadpool, voiced by Ryan Reynolds’ wife Blake Lively, and Cowboypool, played by Matthew McConaughey in his MCU debut. These Deadpool variants also include Kidpool, a younger version of Wade Wilson from Earth-10330 who is somehow more foul-mouthed than Deadpool himself, and Headpool, a floating zombified head from Marvel’s Earth-2149.
After Deadpool and Wolverine slaughter the entire group, they regenerate, but Peter appears in a Deadpool costume and holds off the Valiant. The Valiant, who all seem to know and love their version of Peter, are quickly overwhelmed by his mere presence. That’s pretty much all we’ll see of Peter in Deadpool & Wolverine, except for a brief scene at the end of the film where Wade and his friends are reunited. However, it looks like he was close to setting up one more scene that would have slightly changed the ending of the movie.
Deadpool and Wolverine deleted scene shows Peter hanging out with the Valians
Speaking of which, Deadpool & Wolverine actually has two deleted scenes featuring Peter, one of which is just as gruesome as you’d expect, while the other is, thankfully, a bit of fun. Instagram In a post-post, director Shawn Levy revealed two shots from a deleted scene in which Kidpool and Headpool were supposed to hang out together at Peter’s apartment. This takes place after the final battle, so it’s basically an alternate ending to “Deadpool vs Wolverine.” In “Deadpool vs Wolverine,” the two Deadpool variants become infatuated with Peter and follow him home, becoming his new pals.
Levi didn’t provide any details for the two photos, but he did caption the post, “I want a sequel.” Could the next Marvel team-up be a Peter & Kidpool movie or streaming series? It’s not impossible, considering Deadpool & Wolverine made over $1 billion for what was essentially a movie-length Marvel sketch show. It might also be interesting to see an expletive-filled, Big Daddy-style comedy where Peter basically has to babysit Kidpool.
For now, it appears this deleted scene is just that, a deleted scene, but with Deadpool & Wolverine being a massive success, there’s likely room for more Deadpool and possibly Peter-related media in the near future.
