After two developer previews and two betas, Android 16 reached platform stability in Beta 3. Google is approaching the latest OS clump for June. 2025 I/O Conference.

What are the new features in Android 16 Beta 3?
The latest Android 16 beta brings some new features and some bug fixes for developers to play. Let’s dive in.
New Beta 3 Features
- Auracast Broadcast Audio: The owner of the Pixel 9, which has the latest beta, has enabled technology to allow compatible hearing aids to receive audio streams directly from public places such as airports, concerts, classrooms and more.
- Another accessibility feature is outline text that replaces contrast text with larger contrasting areas to improve readability for low vision users.
- Test future features called developers Local Network Protectionwhich gives users more control over apps that can access devices on the local network. LPN is planned for future major Android releases.
Bug fixes for beta 3

- Fixed an issue where devices could sometimes restart unexpectedly.
- Fixed a variety of issues that could have caused excessive battery drain in some cases.
- Fixed a variety of other issues affecting system stability, performance, and Bluetooth pairing.
- Fixed an issue where At Glance Widget would display outdated information on displays that were always on.
What devices can I install Android 16 beta?
To install Android 16 Beta 3 (or previous beta), you need a compatible pixel device. The complete list of supported devices is as follows:
- Pixel 6 and 6 Pro
- Pixel 6a
- Pixel 7 and 7 Pro
- Pixel 7a
- Pixel fold
- Pixel Tablet
- Pixel 8 and 8 Pro
- Pixel 8a
- pixels 9, 9 pro, 9 pro xl and 9 pro fold
How to install Android 16 Beta 3
You can register one of the compatible pixel devices and receive beta updates with a few clicks.
Installing Android beta is easy. This is the way.
- I’m going to Android Beta Site Log in to your Google account.

- You will see the devices associated with the Google account you are logged in.
- Under the device where you want to install Android 16 beta,[+ Opt In]Click or tap the button.
- Accept the terms of the beta program and click or tap Confirm and sign up.
Once your device has registered, you can check if it is waiting for an update. It usually doesn’t take that long.

- Tap Software Update. Tap System Update.
From there, Android 16 beta will need to start downloading to your device. If you say “Your pixels are up to date”, give it a few more minutes or try restarting your phone.
