Access to Amazon’s new Ai-Enhanced Voice Assistant is expanding Alexa+. The company has started notifying users who have signed up for the early access program that they can activate Alexa+. It’s been a few months since Amazon first demoed the Smarter version of Alexa. At the time, it began rolling out to the first batch of users in March, and then appeared in more people over the next few months, prioritizing owners of Echo Show 8, 10, 15, and 21.
So far, “hunds of thousands” customers have tried out Alexa+, according to an Amazon spokesperson. However, for those who won Alexa+ in the first early access phase, the assistant arrived without many features that the company advertised during its February announcement. Washington Postciting internal company documents, reports that this is because these tools “do not meet Amazon’s standards for publishing yet.” In a footnote on the early access signup page, Amazon points out that some of the features shown are still in development.
Just activate and set up Alexa+ on one device, following Amazon’s email to the latest user wave on Friday. From there, any other compatible devices you own will be automatically upgraded. Alexa+ is said to be more conversational and capable of handling more complex tasks than the original assistant.
