The WNBA playoffs begin on Sunday, which means not only is the regular season MVP award race over, but the WNBA Finals MVP race has just begun.
Of course, to win the Finals MVP, you first have to make it to the Finals, and as of Saturday, the New York Liberty (+125) and Las Vegas Aces (+250) were the slight favorites to win it.
Led by reigning Finals MVP A’ja Wilson, the Aces are looking to win their third consecutive WNBA title, with Wilson looking to become the third player in league history to win back-to-back Finals MVP awards.
Cynthia Cooper won four consecutive years from 1997-2000, and Lisa Leslie won consecutive years from 2001-2002.
As of September 21st, check out the odds for the 2024 WNBA Finals MVP at FanDuel Sportsbook.
2024 WNBA Finals MVP odds:
Breanna Stewart, Liberty: +270 (bet $10 to win $37 total)
A’ja Wilson, Ace: +300 (bet $10 to win $40 total)
Napheesa Collier, Lynx: +400 (bet $10 to win $50 total)
Sabrina Ionescu, Liberty: +800 (Bet $10 to win $90 total)
Jonquel Jones, Liberty: +1600 (bet $10 to win $170 total)
Stewart is atop the odds board and is no stranger to the award, having won it in 2018 and 2020 as a member of the Seattle Storm. She was also named regular season MVP.
Her team, the Liberty, has the best record in the league and will face the Atlanta Dream in the first round of the playoffs.
Wilson and the Aces will face the Storm in the first round, while the Lynx will face the Phoenix Mercury.
Is the WNBA doing enough to support Kaitlyn Clark’s stardom?
And then there’s Caitlin Clark.
As a rookie, Clark led the Fever to the postseason for the first time since 2016. In fact, between 2016 and 2024, the Fever have posted the worst or second-worst record in the league five times.
She seems like the sure thing to be Rookie of the Year, but if the Fever, who have won seven of their last 10 games, make it to the Finals and win, it will surely be thanks to Clark (+3,400 odds to win Finals MVP) and fellow star guard Kelsey Mitchell (+19,000 odds to win Finals MVP).
