coffee machine sale
Fellow Eiden’s drip coffee machine is perhaps the most talked-about device among coffee geeks this year, full of hype. Aiden has a flashy appearance and is a bit flashy. But Aiden is all about simple ease of use, not hype. “A coffee machine’s ability to brew great-tasting coffee with as little friction as possible should be the primary criterion for greatness,” wrote WIRED contributor Pete Cottell in a rave review of Aiden (8/10, “WIRED” recommendation). Its real strength is that it can make beautiful cafe-quality drips and pour-overs without being any more confusing than a dirty old Mr. Coffee from the 1970s. Pair it with the WIRED Gear team’s favorite bean grinder, the Opus, and you’ve got a powerful brewing setup at a huge Black Friday discount. (You can also get the same thing by buying the Opus, which is a great grinder, right now. 20 percent off discount. )
Technivorm’s Moccamaster drip coffee makers have been handcrafted in the Netherlands since 1968. A large, sturdy, and technically precise drip machine that maintains water at the optimal brewing temperature throughout the brewing process. Note that you may have to compromise on color to get your hands on this Black Friday deal. Some colors are already sold out at sale prices, so click through the different color options to find your favorite color at a discounted price. But choose wisely. You’ll probably keep using it for decades.
When this amazing SCA-certified drip coffee maker was introduced just a few years ago, WIRED reviewer Joe Ray said that a high-quality home drip coffee maker was indeed possible and authentic, and that the Oxo 8-cup (9/10, Recommended by WIRED.) Still a great coffee maker. And with that insert you can make just one cup of coffee instead of the whole pot? That’s a great idea after all.
Great deals on espresso machines
The Breville Barista Express is the WIRED Gear team’s favorite premium all-in-one espresso maker that’s affordable to the average person. And this weekend it’s well below list price, with the possibility of a rebate, which could push the price even lower. What do you like about Barista? It’s a sturdy, mostly metal machine, easy to use, and easy to froth milk. It grinds the beans for you and produces a constant water pressure that you can check with the included pressure gauge. It also has excellent durability. It has been comfortably stored on the bookshelf of WIRED reviewer Julian Cioccatu for over five years.
The Terra Kaffe is an expensive coffee machine and has its share of bugs, but it’s one of the few on the planet that not only offers high-quality espresso and macchiato, but also real drip coffee that isn’t an Americano. All this comes in a nifty, easy-to-clean package with a smart screen and all the bells and whistles. Using the phone app, you can start warming up your machine from your bed, similar to a remote starter in your car. Anyway, until December 15th, you’ll save a whopping $500 and get an extra Fundo when you sign on for a coffee subscription. —matthew kolfuji
Any espresso lover with a spouse or roommate knows that score. The grinder on your espresso machine might be the alarm clock for your entire house. What a joy, then, to hear the gentle whirring of this KitchenAid machine (8/10, WIRED Recommends). That burr grinder is like a ridge on a tree leaf. While we can’t guarantee it won’t wake up light sleepers, it’s the quietest device the Gear team has tested. KitchenAid is packed with thoughtful features such as its surprisingly compact form, wheels that can be stored away when not in use, and intuitive operation. However, reviewers lament that it took a few more tries than expected to dial in the device to get a great cup.
The WIRED Gear team has been a fan of Mr. Coffee’s automatic latte and cappuccino devices for years, and The Cafe Barista is already a low-cost offering in the category, often trading for under $200. This device’s low price comes with a trade-off. It’s a bit plasticky and light. But for all that, it’s easy to make rich single or double espressos, cappuccinos, and lattes with the push of a button. The milk is quite frothy, which is a plus or minus depending on your preference.
Great deals on portable coffee makers
Wacaco’s Picopresso is the overall best portable espresso maker tested by the WIRED Gear team. Compact, lightweight, robust, and has excellent extraction capabilities. It’s a small device, but it has very little bitterness, gives a great crema, and gives delicious results. A word of caution: a very fine grind must be used, and a good extraction requires considerable manual pressure, making the device difficult for people with joint pain or repetitive stress injuries. It will be. An earlier (and cheaper) version also gave good results, although not quite as good. nanopresso.
Okay, I know :A classic aeropress It’s already quite portable. But the Go is even more travel-friendly. In fact, this is the WIRED Gear team’s favorite portable coffee maker. It’s lightweight, only slightly larger than a coffee mug, and completely self-contained. Another benefit for those on the go is that the AeroPress is very forgiving by its nature. If you add the lees, stir, and drink it all at once, you’ll end up with a very delicious cup. Anyway, Aeropress is on discount 25% off most Aeropress models It’s Black Friday, so take your pick.
coffee grinder sale
In the sub-$100 price range, no automatic grinder in our tests beat Oxo’s Brew. The Brew offers balanced features, the solid precision of a conical burr grinder, and surprisingly wide range for a bean grinder priced in the double digits. Please note: its slim profile means it won’t take up space. But its height is about 16 inches, which roughly matches the standard clearance for cabinets, so you may need to find an open counter space to load from above.
Sometimes it’s the simple things that make us fall in love with a product. And the first thing Gear team testers liked about the KitchenAid burr grinder was how easy it was to clean. This is something you’ll start to appreciate after using it every day for a few weeks or months. But it’s also a good grinder, even if it doesn’t match the great grinding performance of our slightly more expensive top picks. We also liked the precise control over dosage and the helpful guidelines on grind settings. This is the lowest price we’ve observed for this model.
Even if you don’t buy it as part of Fellow’s Aiden Grinder kit, the Opus is worth buying on its own. This is the WIRED Gear team’s favorite all-around grinder (9/10, WIRED Recommends), and it’s a quiet device that delivers a consistent grind even at the highest espresso settings. At less than $200, it can compete with much more expensive grinders.
You won’t be able to oversell this blade grinder. You won’t get the consistency and fineness of a high-end conical burr grinder or flat burr grinder, which we recommend for those looking for the best. But if you’re a regular drip coffee or French press coffee drinker who rolls your eyes every time you hear someone talk seriously about “brew uniformity” or “flavor separation,” right? Well, this sturdy little KitchenAid grinds beans without a hitch. Pro tip if you’re not rolling your eyes: Pulse rather than holding the button down for a more even grind.
French press and cold brew sale
This is a solid deal for a great cold brew beer maker. The Oxo Compact is my favorite device for making classic cold brews that spend most of the day brewing on the counter. why? It has an easy-to-use and elegant shape, and the combination of mesh and (optional) paper filter gives you a clean, flavor-free cup of coffee. Compact shows a solid respect for limited counter and refrigerator space. And most importantly, the coffee is delicious. The coffee I make with Oxo is the closest thing to the best packaged or cafe cold brew coffee.
The French press is a must-have portable tool in any coffee lover’s kitchen, and a low-tech default at the cooktop or camp. The Secura’s biggest selling point compared to many other French presses is that it’s sturdy, stainless steel and insulated. In other words, hot things stay hot and cold things stay cold. Is this the right time to mention the French press that the WIRED Gear team loves for making cold brew?
coffee accessories sale
File this in your “I didn’t know I needed it until I got it” folder. This is the sweet spot that makes this smart warmer perfect as a stocking stuffer for caffeine addicts. This mug warmer is not “smart” as it requires an app to use and records conversations. He’s smart because he’s smart. The device senses when a flat-bottomed mug is placed on top of it and responds by keeping it warm at about 130 degrees Fahrenheit. This eliminates the endless dance of finishing the coffee and refilling it while it’s still hot. Removing the mug will power off your device. Easy is underrated.
By storing beans in a vacuum, you can keep your coffee delicious for a longer period of time. If you’re using fresh, premium beans from a local roaster, vacuum storage can help you better preserve the investment you regularly make in beans. Place your bag in this container and turn the Atmos twist action pump. This device removes all the air – all the oxygen – and freezes the sad oxidation process that turns your once delicately aromatic coffee into pungent cardboard. This is the lowest price we’ve seen at Atmos this year and makes a great gift for the coffee fanatic.
Of course, if that’s all you need, Tally (9/10, WIRED Recommends) will weigh your coffee for you. However, it also starts a timer that tracks the prober’s progress and calculates the weight of water that needs to be added. Think of it as the third wave coffee lover’s true companion. Like most Fellow coffee supplies, Tally is currently 20% off.
To all you Aeropress enthusiasts out there, even if it’s you: Replacing your Aeropress cap with a darker Prismo will significantly increase the pressure you put on your finished beer. The WIRED team found during testing that this makes the cup cleaner, adds a bit of aeration, and results in a more satisfying cold brew. Science! This Black Friday sale isn’t huge, but it’s still comparable to the best discounts we’ve seen so far this year.
